Paul J Cunney & Co. was established by it’s Principal Paul Cunney in January 2023.
Paul is a native of Killasser a parish north of Swinford in East Mayo. On completing his Leaving Certificate in 1991 Paul joined the Defence Forces as an Army cadet and was commissioned in July 1993 when he was posted as an Infantry Officer to Collins Barracks in Dublin. He graduated from N.U.I Galway with an Arts degree and later a law degree while still serving in the Defence Forces. He served on three overseas mission in Lebanon, East Timor and Western Sahara. He retired from the Defence Forces in 2004 and subsequently attended Black Hall Place, Dublin where he qualified as a solicitor and entered the Roll in Easter 2007. Paul also holds a diploma in Employment law attained in 2017 from the Law Society of Ireland. In the same year he commenced acting as Chairman for Mental Health Tribunals to assess whether a person who has been involuntarily detained under the Mental Health Act 2001 as amended should have their Order affirmed or revoked.
Paul has vast experience in dealing with commercial disputes, personal injury *, litigation, defamation, debt collection, land disputes, negligence (including medical and professional negligence), breach of contract, landlord and tenant disputes, employment law disputes, probate disputes.
